and Business Owner – Deb Marinos
The instructor, Deb Marinos, a licensed General Supervising Electrician has worked in the electrical field over 25 years. This time included being the owner/supervisor of a electrical contracting firm in Silverton, a rural Oregon town for 19 years. Work projects included both new and repair for residential, commercial and industrial installations in a variety of areas. A small shop allowed her to both work in the field and provide estimating/management for the projects. She has been providing classroom education for electricians in code and theory since 1995. In addition to several electrical licenses, she has a Bachelor's in Management and Organizational Leadership, an Associates in Professional Technical Teaching, Applied Science, Industrial Technology, with course work in Electrical Engineering. A life long learner with her background in applied code and theory in the field make the classes interesting and engaging. Deb's goal in teaching code classes is to give electricians and trade professionals the tools to figure out the whys and where to use the NEC to provide for reliable and safe installations. Facilitating students to provide for interactions with the other professionals in the class while studying a section of code allows for practical application of electrical knowledge. In class worksheets expand and challenge existing theory concepts, allowing students to understand code better. To provide for current and applicable information the instructor is an active participant in the Rule and Law, code making process at both state and federal level. In addition to attending classes and reading published materials, she attends several national conferences per year to bring back the latest in products and ideas. EDUCATION:
